JJ Racaza will be providing an instructional shooting session in Parma, Idaho, this is a class you want to be in. In case you didn’t know who JJ Racaza is, here’s a little bit of information about him. Simon “J.J.” Racaza is a competitive pistol shooter world champion. He was the number one qualifier of the US Gold Team for the 2010 ISSF World Shooting Championships. In 2010, Racaza competed in season one of History Channel’s Top Shot marksmanship competition, winning third place.
Racaza graduated from Seton Hall University with a degree in Business Management Information Systems. He currently works as an agent for the Department of Homeland Security. He is also a double Grand Master in the USPSA. Racaza is part of Team Limcat, a team of professional competitive shooters sponsored by the company of the same name. Limcat even designed a gun specifically for Racaza, called the Razorcat Racing Gun. During one episode of the second season of the show, Racaza appeared with Blake Miguez as trainers for one of the challenges.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The class will encompass a review of weapons handling and marksmanship (draw, reload, emergency reload, magazine exchange, techniques, grip, and trigger control), stance (focusing on natural point of aim), reactive shooting, committed trigger drills, multiple target engagement, alternate target engagement, shooting and moving, shooting from cover, close quarter combat, and one hand gun manipulation/shooting. This course is designed around the ultimate and equal balance of accuracy and speed that is applicable just as much to LE/Military training as it is to competition. Aside from the techniques and skills taught this course also has aspects that require the student to truly “think” while operating on a course of fire. Learning to shoot under pressure is paramount. Outside of actual real life situations this course is one of the few ways pressure can truly be induced. If you carry or use a handgun in any way, shape or form you will benefit from this course.
